Visa Requirements

(Updated 13 Jan 2009)

The 2009 Sydney Societas Liturgica Congress has been registered with the Australian Department of Immigration and Citizenship and most participants will be able to apply for a Visa or Electronic Travel Authority (ETA) online.

Under normal circumstances New Zealand and Norfolk Island passport holders will be issued a visa on arrival in Australia unless there are character or health concerns (see: www.immi.gov.au/media/fact-sheets/17nz.htm).

There are three main visas applicable to Societas Liturgica Conference participants and these are briefly described below. Detailed information about each is available from the Australian Department of Immigration and Citizenship Website.  Website Link: www.immi.gov.au

Visa 1: ETA (Business Entrant) (Subclass 977) (online application)

In some cases, applicants may be required to obtain medical or penal clearance as part of the visa application process – this may result in more lengthy processing times.
